Who is Molly? |
  |
Molly M. McGartland was born on January 18th 1972 and grew up in a small community east of Pittsburgh, PA. Molly is the second child of Patrick and Mary McGartland who had three children. Her close ties to her family and Milwaukee have brought them together. Her brother Patrick and sister Bridie have settled with their families in the Milwaukee area, and Pat and Mary live not more than 15 minutes from any of their children.
Molly first moved to Milwaukee and attended Marquette University, and later the UW-Milwaukee to study Sociology and English. And in September of 2000 Molly met Brian Cummings, and found her husband. She moved to St Francis almost 10 years ago where they now live with their two beautiful girls, Maura and Eleanor
For the last 10 years Molly has worked as a Realtor® in the Greater Milwaukee Market with a concentration on the South Shore Neighborhoods. She is a Senior Real Estate Specialist, a Condominium Expert and has helped dozens of first time buyers into their new homes. Molly has experienced the increase and decrease of the Real Estate Market, and has seen first hand the causalities of this economy. The lost jobs and foreclosures were exacerbated by outrageously high property taxes, general fee increases and over spending by a bloated state government.
Molly is a member of St Paul Parish where she serves as a Parish Council Member advising the Parish Priest and Administrator. Molly also serves on the School Advisory Board for St Thomas Aquinas Academy Catholic School as the Vice Chair. This experience has reinforced Molly’s philosophy that the more involved a parent is in their child’s education, the more a child will learn.
Why run?
This question comes at you from all angles the moment the thought to serve in public office crosses your mind. For me, the creeping incrementalism of the liberal’s agenda has reaching a tipping point, and we as a nation need to decide if we are going to be a nation of makers or takers.. Someone famous once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” The America where I grew up, our freedoms, our identity, our culture, and our faith are on the line. I understand the fight, and understand what is at stake, so how could I not run.
What would I do?
If I was privileged to serve the South Shore communities, I would disentangle state government from your lives. I believe that you are the best judge of how to run your house, and educate your children, and provide for your family. The best way for me to help you is to cut taxes so you can spend your money on your priorities. I understand you need an advocate in Madison, one to protect your freedoms, your faith, your families, and your property rights. I would uphold the Wisconsin State Constitution as it was written and bring a healthy dose of conservative common sense to Madison. I will always be on the side of life.
What I would not do?
I would not build a high speed train from Madison to Milwaukee that no one would use when we already subsidize bus and train transportation. I would not pass a cap and tax systems based on questionable science that would harm manufacturing in Wisconsin. I would not create an entity who wasn’t accountable to the voters, but who had the power to regulate or tax. I will not grow government at lighting speed by spending your hard earned money. I would not erode your rights to bear arms, to express your faith, to drive the vehicle of your choice, eat what you like, and live how you choose.
